TRK Group is an Oslo-based Advisory and Active Ownership Firm, founded by long-term McKinsey Senior Partner Trond Riiber Knudsen. TRK Group is aiming to catalyze growth for promising entrepreneurial ventures across three particularly exciting domains: Disruptive Technologies, Digital service transformation, and Emerging Africa.
The Group is built around a unique network of investors, investment managers, consultants, policy makers, business leaders, entrepreneurs and leadership talent across these domains, and is thus focused on bringing the magic of the network together and only selectively use capital to catalyze positive impact. Thus, TRK Group is primarily focused on helping talented people and organizations reach their full potential and is therefore as focused on societal value creation as financial value creation.
Trond has focused his client work around long-term partnerships with a number of globally leading companies within consumer goods, retail, media, telecom and technology, most with headquarters in the Nordics. Trond has been an active driving force for McKinsey’s growth in Africa, including his country of birth, Ethiopia.
Trond has a passionate commitment for helping people from different backgrounds, to reach their full potential. Based on this, Trond has for a number of years advised Kronprinsparets fond, focusing on mastery and methods to avoid social exclusion among young individuals.
Recently, he has led a committee in McKinsey to develop more diverse consultant profiles – including promoting consultants with expert profiles and different cultural backgrounds as well as overseeing programs to accelerate the development of more women in leadership positions in McKinsey. Together with McKinsey and Telenor, he has created WLP, Women Leadership Program to support and promote future women leaders in Norway among female university and college students.
